I love taking pictures. Usually just for selfish reasons. I get so much satisfaction out of capturing a moment that makes me feel something...like you know, in my heart and stuff. I spend so much time, effort and practice trying to learn different techniques to get those split second moments that I envision in my mind into my camera. Not every single one of these "visions" are typical "sellable" images, but I don't care. This is where my selfish love for taking photos comes into play. Sometimes when I get a clients photo package ready and send them back, there is the odd time that I'll get an email saying "I love them! But could I get image #xxxx in colour??" After I've regained consciousness, I try to explain how the photo was purposely edited in black and white because I felt that the photo was better suited to that and not colour. My black and white are rarely just straight one click conversions. I put a lot of heart into them, and would never give it to the client as a final product if I thought the colour version was superior. But of course, if someone really wanted the colour, as if I would't give it to them. I know everyone's tastes are different but in the end since I am running a business, I aim to please!
I went through my body of work from the last year and decided to make a compilation of all my favourite black and white images that really spoke to me. You know what they say...a pictures says a 1000 words. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
